Processes: Zinc

Zinc / Zinc-iron: are electrochemical processes where a metallic zinc, respectively zinc iron layer is applied in an electrolyte by electro-plating. The base material steel or zinc-die-cast is coated in the µm range. Afterwards an aftertreatment is compulsory, because the plane zinc layer withstands the corrosion loads only conditionally. For this a chromating (Cr 6 containing) or a passivation (Chrom 6 free) is applied by the dipping method. A subsequent sealing provides an additional corrosion protection.
